Bennerley Road - Clapham, London
The client bought a dated mid terrace house in the heart of Clapham off the Northcote Road. The project involved part demolition of some of the existing ground floor outrigger buildings and consolidation of the ground floor spaces and extending to the rear. It was important to provide light into the depth of the plan through the use of rooflights, whilst also providing WC and Utility in the darker central part of the ground floor.
Slimline Glazing
The trend towards bi-folding doors is now leaning towards the use of slimline Sliding doors. The appeal of slimline sliding doors is that you reduce the amount of frame compared to glazing. That way the connection to the external spaces feels closer and the size of the spaces can feel bigger.
Island ergonomics
The kitchen island in is now seen as an important part of the kitchen design. We use kitchens more for socialising rather than purely as a functional the space, the island has really enabled better kitchen ergonomics from a social and practical perspective.
